The Tribes Of Israel In Prophecy
Once again I have made an effort to more clearly elucidate my understanding of Bible prophecy. More specifically, this essay will address the question of “what constitutes the Israel of Bible Prophecy?” It is not the State of that name. Is it the Jewish People? Is it “Spiritual Israel” as mainstream Churchianity maintains? In order to get a handle on Bible Prophecy we must carefully define our terms. Only a through a thorough system of definitions, and a hierarchy of sets clearly demarking which terms contain other terms as subsets, is it possible to untangle what otherwise is not difficult to understand.
Often I can approach the general statement of my understanding by entering through a specific question. The right question can force the statement of the general system in way of answering it. Here is the particular question that initiated the exposition of my general understanding of the basic plan of The Bible. The question was in regard to the number of 144,000 being mentioned in The Book of Revelation. Jehovah Witnesses understand this number to refer to the Saints who have come up through that religious sect. However, the Book Of Revelation makes clear where that number arises.
There is a willful disregard of the obvious: there are 12,000 from each of the 12 Tribes of Israel. Right now, and for but a short time longer, only 2 Tribes are known. The Jewish People consist of the Tribes of Judah and Benjamin. When God stripped Solomon’s son of the Kingship of Israel, for the sake of David whom God loved, Judah and one additional Tribe were left under the Davidic Dynasty in the remnant Kingdom of Judea, with its capital in Jerusalem. The rest of Israel was ripped away from the Davidic Kingdom. They retained the name, “Israel” and waxed powerful. They represented the worldly Power and Beauty of the Rachel birthright.
The Kingdom of Judea, was Judah and Benjamin was added to it for David’s sake. Thus the Jewish People represent a microcosm of all Israel, in that Judah son of Leah and Benjamin son of Rachel remained with the Torah and together added the last few Prophets to the Tanakh. (Tanakh= Torah + Nevi’im [Prophets: Major and Minor, Early and Late]+ Ketuvim [Writings: Psalms, Proverbs, Job, Song of Songs, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, Esther, Daniel, Ezra/Nehemiah, 1&2 Chronicles])
The Northern Kingdom, which was dominated by Ephraim of Joseph, lapsed into greater and greater apostasy. Jealous of the Temple in Jerusalem, the Kings of Israel built their own temples, so that their people would not have any sense of loyalty to The Temple with its Ark and official monopoly for all sacrificial services.
The Kingdom of Judea and Israel often made war on one another. Israel was more powerful. However, YHVH’s finally reached His parting of the ways with The Northern Kingdom, called Israel, Ephraim, Samaria, Shechem etc. He whistled for the Assyrian attack dog. They came, they saw, and conquered and exiled the Ten Tribes in the 8th century BC to wherever they began their long migrations into western Europe and other places.
Yet, many Prophecies state that in the Latter Days the Lost Tribes will have the spirit of amnesia lifted.
It was for them that Yeshua HaMoshiah came. It was to them that he directed his disciples and apostles. Like the flock that recognizes the voice of their master, wherever Lost Sheep were living, they were the ones who heard and accepted the Gospel. Attached to the Gospel is the entire Tanakh! Through Jesus Christ, and the spread of Christianity most if not all of the Lost Sheep became RE-GRAFTED to the Olive Tree. But since a spirit of amnesia had been placed on Israel’s Lost Sheep they believed in Jesus, and believed like Paul, that they were Wild Branches engrafted through Messiah Jesus. For 2000 years this has remained the status quo.
HOWEVER as we approach the Last Days it is becoming closer to the time when Judea and Israel will be reunited.
TEXTS: 1. Ezekiel 28:15 The word of the Lord came to me: 16 “Son of man, take a stick of wood and write on it, ‘Belonging to Judah and the Israelites associated with him. ’ Then take another stick of wood, and write on it, ‘Belonging to Joseph (that is, to Ephraim) and all the Israelites associated with him.’ 17 Join them together into one stick so that they will become one in your hand.
18 “When your people ask you, ‘Won’t you tell us what you mean by this?’ 19 say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am going to take the stick of Joseph—which is in Ephraim’s hand—and of the Israelite tribes associated with him, and join it to Judah’s stick. I will make them into a single stick of wood, and they will become one in my hand.’ 20 Hold before their eyes the sticks you have written on 21 and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land. 22 I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms. 23 They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.
24 “‘My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees. 25 They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your ancestors lived. They and their children and their children’s children will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever. 26 I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever. 27 My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people. 28 Then the nations will know that I the Lord make Israel holy, when my sanctuary is among them forever. ’”
2. HOSEA 1:2 When the Lord began to speak through Hosea, the Lord said to him, “Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord.” 3 So he married Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.
4 Then the Lord said to Hosea, “Call him Jezreel, because I will soon punish the house of Jehu for the massacre at Jezreel, and I will put an end to the kingdom of Israel. 5 In that day I will break Israel’s bow in the Valley of Jezreel. ”
(ISRAEL’S BOW? Genesis 49: 22 JOSEPH is a fruitful vine,
a fruitful vine near a spring,
whose branches climb over a wall.
23 With bitterness archers attacked him;
they shot at him with hostility.
24 But HIS BOW REMAINED STEADY
his strong arms stayed limber,
because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob,
because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel, ..)
Israel’s bow, to be broken in the valley of Jezreel, is Joseph!
But continue with Hosea.
HOSEA 1:6 Gomer conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. Then the Lord said to Hosea, “Call her Lo-Ruhamah (which means “not loved”), for I will no longer show love to Israel, that I should at all forgive them. 7 Yet I will show love to Judah; and I will save them—not by bow, sword or battle, or by horses and horsemen, but I, the Lord their God, will save them.”
8 After she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah, Gomer had another son. 9 Then the Lord said, “Call him Lo-Ammi (which means “not my people”), for you are not my people, and I am not your God.
SO HERE ARE TWO DIVISIONS OF B’NAI YISRAEL: THE DAUGHTER, “NOT LOVED”; THE SON, “NOT MY PEOPLE”. BUT THERE WILL BE A REUNION JUST AS EZEKIEL WROTE. 10 “Yet the Israelites will be like the sand on the seashore, which cannot be measured or counted. In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘children of the living God.’ 11 The people of JUDAH and the people of ISRAEL WILL COME TOGETHER; they will appoint ONE LEADER and will come up out of the land, for great will be the day of Jezreel.
HOS. 2:1 “Say of your brothers, ‘My people,’ and of your sisters, ‘My loved one.’
Bayom Hahu: In That Day: HOS. 2:16 “In that day,” declares the Lord,
“you will call me ‘my husband’;
you will no longer call me ‘my master.’
17 I will remove the names of the Baals from her lips;
no longer will their names be invoked.
18 In that day I will make a covenant for them
with the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky
and the creatures that move along the ground.
Bow and sword and battle
I will abolish from the land,
so that all may lie down in safety.
19 I will betroth you to me forever;
I will betroth you in righteousness and justice,
in love and compassion.
20 I will betroth you in faithfulness,
and you will acknowledge the Lord.
21 “In that day I will respond,”
declares the Lord—
“I will respond to the skies,
and they will respond to the earth;
22 and the earth will respond to the grain,
the new wine and the olive oil,
and they will respond to Jezreel.
23 I will plant her for myself in the land;
I will show my love to the one I called ‘Not my loved one. ’
I will say to those called ‘Not my people,’ ‘You are my people’;
and they will say, ‘You are my God. ’”
WOW! To all who spiritualize “Israel” and seek to replace Natural, Physical Israel with something called “Spiritual Israel” are DEAD wrong.
Today there is a stirring throughout the Churches of America and the English speaking world. Many, many, have discovered the “Jewish” Yeshua; the Torah Observant Messiah. He did not come to change the Law. He did come to trim back the overgrowth of Oral law and Traditions of Man. But to claim He came to change the times and dates of Shabbot and to destroy and replace the Festivals with neo-pagan imitations, like X-mas, Easter, Good Friday etc. is to call God a liar. To deliberately misread Acts as a call to partake of swine and shellfish is equally foolish if one does so himself, but if one teaches other to do so, that one is in very serious danger of committing fatal sin.
The 144,000 are 12,000 from each Tribe. As AMOS 9:9: “For I will give the command,
and I will shake the people of Israel
among all the nations
as grain is shaken in a sieve,
and not a pebble will reach the ground. NOT ONE of the living converted descendents of the Lost Tribes shall remain Lost.
Bayom Hahu: On that great day, many professional theologians, Rabbis. “Priests”, Reverends, etc all will be shocked.
The Sunday-schooled Churchianity that wielded Yeshua as a club to smash his brother Jews shall hear “Be gone I know thee not!” And as the State of Israel is isolated and it seems as if all the armies of he world are reeling about, stuporously trying to consume Jerusalem, will see the coming of their Messiah. And they will learn that He was, is and will always be Yeshua The Word, The Anointed, HaMOshiah and will mourn for Him as for a first born son. (He is the First Fruit! He ate the First Night Passover Seder with his Disciples, as the Last Supper. The First Seder occurs as the sun sets in the 14th of Nisan as the 15th begins. Thus he could not be the Pesah Lamb since He was eating it! He was arrested at sunrise still on the 15th. Interrogated, sentenced, flogged, crucified all on the 15th. The legs of the surviving victims were broken so that they all could be removed before the next Holy Day.
Leviticus 23:9 The Lord said to Moses, 10 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter the land I am going to give you and you reap its harvest, bring to the priest a sheaf of the first grain you harvest. 11 He is to wave the sheaf before the Lord so it will be accepted on your behalf; the priest is to wave it on the day after the Sabbath.
This has been debated ever since. What does “Sabbath” mean here? And since the first fruits of the various farms throughout the Land will occur at different, there must be a standardization of times. Jewish observance counts the “Sabbath” as the first Seder. Therefore if the First Seder is that Sabbath, ” the priest is to wave it on the day after the Sabbath. 12 On the day you wave the sheaf, you must sacrifice as a burnt offering to the Lord a lamb a year old without defect,” Therefore Yeshua was Crucified on the day following that Sabbath. thus He is as the Perfect Yearling! We count 7 weeks from this day and arrive at Shavuot (Weeks). The believers were gathering at the Temple for this occasion and the spirit of God descended and filled the Believers hearts! They were able to be understood in the various languages that Jews from all over the ancient world spoke. This not ridiculous “tongues” of babble. It was the miraculous ability to communicate directly with one’s fellow allowing everyone present to understand the sense of their thoughts.
So, the 144K are from B’nai Yisrael. It is we who are to be Priests and Kings. The reason for the whole historical pageant was to give God the method of inviting the entire world to join in His Kingdom. The Lost Tribes were scattered in order to justify sending disciples throughout the entire world, allowing those truly Wild Branches to be engrafted. A spirit of Blindness was placed on the Jewish People for if they would have accepted Yeshua as King then and there, the gates to the Wedding Feast would close. Many, most of the world including the Lost Sheep would have been left outside, gnashing their teeth! The spirit of Blindness on the Jews made them scapegoats for 2000 years. But its was as if it were their very bodies being crushed preventing the heavy gates from closing. And besides the excuse for making good the promises to the Lost Tribes, lies the Invitation to the entire world. The suffering of the Jews allowed the wedding feast to be delayed as long as possible to gather in every last harvestable soul from the nations! Yet every tear shall be wiped away. If God is Loving and Just (which HE IS!!!) imagine the joy that must be required to make good the horrors of having one’s infant snatched out of mother’s arms and seeing its head dashed against a wall! Or the horrendous scenes in the Gas Chambers when terrified children cried to their mothers who died trying to hold them up above the rising gas: what amount of Joy can justify that pain? Only a Godly amount!!!!
The Jewish People account for two of the Tribes. We must understand that the other Tribes must still exist or a number of Prophecies regarding the latter days will be impossible to ever be fulfilled. In that case the entire Bible’s usefulness is cast in doubt!
